Level G in i-Ready is typically the level that students in Grade 3 or 4 will be at. At Level G, students should be able to read and comprehend texts with complex sentence structures, figurative language, and multi-syllable words.

The reading skills that are assessed at this level include identifying cause and effect relationships, making inferences, comparing and contrasting information, predicting outcomes, and identifying the author's purpose.

In addition, at Level G, students will be expected to demonstrate their ability to analyze and evaluate texts, identify literary elements such as settings, characters, themes, and plot, and use evidence from the text to support their answers.

To achieve success at Level G, students will need to be able to use context clues to determine the meaning of unfamiliar words, make connections between text and their own experiences, and use critical thinking skills to identify the main idea or central message of a text.
